A heavy duty dumpster is a roll-off built for dense material like concrete, dirt, brick and rock. Ours is a 10 yard bin with low 3 ft walls (17.5 ft x 8 ft x 3 ft) and 3 tons of disposal included, and it's rated for that kind of weight.

How much concrete fits in a 10 yard heavy duty dumpster?

It holds as much as you can load within 3 tons (6,000 lbs). As a general guide, broken concrete weighs roughly 1 to 1.5 tons per cubic yard, so you'll reach the weight limit before the bin is full. Anything over 3 tons is billed per ton, and you only pay for the actual overage.

Can I put dirt and caliche in this dumpster?

Yes. Clean dirt, soil, clay, sand, fill dirt and caliche are all accepted in the 10 yard heavy duty. It's the only size we rent for dirt and caliche, because standard dumpsters aren't rated for that weight.

Can I mix concrete with other debris?

Yes. The heavy duty is listed for mixed waste and heavy construction debris as well as concrete, dirt, gravel, brick and tile. Keep hazardous and prohibited items out, and if your load is mostly household junk or light debris, a standard size is the better fit. Will a loaded heavy duty dumpster damage my driveway?

10 Yard Heavy Duty Dumpster Weight Limit Notes

3 tons (6,000 lbs) of disposal is included. Anything over is billed at $90 per ton from the disposal scale ticket.
With heavy material, you'll hit the weight limit long before the bin looks full. As a general guide, broken concrete and wet dirt or caliche weigh roughly 1 to 1.5 tons per cubic yard, so 3 tons is only a few cubic yards of solid material.
Rain adds weight to dirt and caliche, so keep the bin covered if storms are in the forecast.
